    • NOTE: Depending on Operating System/browser version another window may open for the HP Download and Install Assistant when Download is selected. Use this download assistant if unsure of how or where to download the printer driver. The HP Download and Install Assistant should automatically start the driver download when completed and display the location of where the driver files are downloaded.

  • The Firmware Update Utility can use either a Network or USB connection to the printer.
  • When using a Network or USB connection, the HP MFP print driver software must be installed prior to using this utility.
  • The HP MFP printer must be on and in a READY state as shown by the LCD display on the control panel and remain powered on during the entire firmware update process.
