1 . Download the fmw file
With LAN connectivity
2a . Go to the Embedded Web Server (type the IP address of the printer from any Web browser as Internet Explorer) and click on the Setup tab
With USB connectivity
2b . Open the HP Printer Utility, select your printer and click on the Support tab
3 . Select the Firmware upgrade
4 . Click on browse button to point to the newer firmware file (.fmw)
5 . Click on the update button and follow the instructions.
