How to install the new version of IPS:
It is very important that the previous version of the IPS on the PC is first uninstalled before installing the new version (3). (If you select to upgrade, this procedure will fail the installation.)
- Download the file from the web to a location on the PC. Make a note of the location.
- Uninstall the current versions of IPS through the Control Panel -> Uninstall Internal Print Server Application (this will delete any current job in the queue, but NOT the ripped files.)
- Browse to location where the download file was saved.
- Unzip the 2 files (HPIPS.msi and setup.exe) to a location on a physical hard drive of the IPS PC (not on the desktop).
- Browse to the unzipped files location on the PC and run the 'setup.exe' of the newer IPS version. Follow the installation steps by clicking "Next" until the new software is installed.
