The HP LJM1520 MFP Series Firmware Update Utility for Macintosh OS X, OS X 10.5, OS X 10.6, OS X 10.7 and 10.8 can use either a Network or USB connection to the printer.
IMPORTANT - Before the process starts: Turn the printer off and then back on to clear main printer memory. Disconnect the fax line prior to updating the FW to ensure an incoming Fax does not interfere with the FW update process (applies to 'nf' model only). Make sure the firmware being updated is for the correct LaserJet product. For example, if you are updating the LaserJet M1522 MFP Series the firmware file should be for the respective model numbered device.
• The HP LJM1522 MFP printer must be on and in a READY state as shown by the LCD display on the control panel and remain powered on during the entire firmware update process.
