1. Download and extract the fmw file
With LAN connectivity
2a. Go to the Embedded Web Server (type the IP address of the printer from any Web browser as Internet Explorer) and click on the Setup tab
With USB connectivity
2b. Open the HP Printer Utility, select your printer and click on the Support tab
3. Select the Firmware upgrade
4. Click on browse button to point to the newer firmware file (.fmw)
5. Click on the update button and follow the instructions.
- You will be able to replace a cartridge that has run out of ink in the middle of a print without needing to cancel the print.
- When loading photo papers, the printer will ask if you want to cut the leading edge of the paper.
