Use this software for first time USB installations only. Do NOT attach USB cable until prompted by the EZInstall program. The driver contained in this download package is the PCL 6 driver specifically for Windows Vista (64-bit). The HP Color LaserJet 2700 PCL 6 plug and play package (clj2700-PCL6-pnpMONO-winv64-ww.exe) provides the following:
NOTE: If the printer was previously connected via USB to Windows Vista, the "HP Color LaserJet 2700/2700n/PS" driver that comes with Windows Vista would have installed. Running this package (clj2700-PCL6MONO-pnp-winv64-ww.exe) will replace the existing "HP Color LaserJet 2700/2700n PS" driver that comes with Windows Vista. However, the driver name will remain "HP Color LaserJet 2700/2700n PS". The driver can be renamed if desired. In addition you will notice that the EZInstall will not "Finish" due to the fact that Windows has already recognized a plug and play event for this printer. |

Before proceeding with the software installation, the printer must first be properly set up.
- Close any software programs running on your computer.
- Click the Download button and a File Download box will appear.
- Select Save and a Save As box will appear.
- Select a directory to save the file in and click Save. Remember the location of the saved file.
- Locate the file using Windows Explorer when the download has completed.
- Double click on the file. This will extract all the driver files into a directory on your hard drive. The default directory is c:Program Files (x86)Hewlett-PackardLaserJet 2700 Drivers. However, you can change the path and directory name at the time of extracting the file.
- Click Next after the file extraction is complete and follow the instructions presented by the EZInstall program. Do NOT attach the USB cable to the printer until prompted by the EZInstall program.
