Before Running the Update:
The RecordNow software included on the DVD Writer installation disc must be installed for the firmware update to operate successfully. Install RecordNow before running this update.

Instructions:
Download the dvd630c_ch16.exe file to the computer containing the DVD Writer drive. Once the file is fully downloaded, double-click the dvd630c_ch16.exe file to install and initiate the firmware update. Follow the on-screen directions to complete the firmware update.

Reminder:
The DVD Writer must have the power cycled off after the firmware update.

DVD630i Owners: Cycle power to the DVD630i by shutting down and turning off the computer.

DC5000 and DVD630e Owners: Cycle power to the DC5000 Movie Writer or DVD630e by shutting down the computer, manually unplugging power to the DVD Writer, and then re-plugging the power cable into the drive. Failure to cycle power may result in the DVD Writer temporarily malfunctioning.

WARNING: While installing this update, do not turn off, suspend, or hibernate the PC. Close all applications before starting the update.

This update program requires either a blank floppy diskette or a blank CD-R disc.

1. Download the update program.
2. Close all applications and remove any discs from the PC optical drives (CD or DVD).
3. Double-click the icon for the update file downloaded in Step 1, and then click NEXT.
4. Accept the terms in the HP license agreement, and then click NEXT.
5. Go to the next step for the type of media you are using, either a blank floppy diskette or a blank CD-R disc.

To continue the update using a blank floppy diskette:

6. Select Floppy Diskette in the "HLDS GWA-4084B ...." window, and then click OK.
7. Insert the blank floppy diskette and click OK in the "HLDS GWA-4084B ...." window.
8. Wait a few minutes for the program to make the Firmware Update
