File Description This SoftPaq creates files that contain the CPQFlash utility and a binary image of the System BIOS (ROM) for the notebook models listed below with a 68P4F Family ROM. The CPQFlash utility is used to locally flash the System BIOS on PCs through a Windows environment. The ROM Family and ROM date can be determined by running the Setup Utility by pressing F10 on the target computer during system power on of the computer, and viewing File/System Information.

HOW TO USE:
  1. Download the SoftPaq to a temporary, empty directory on your hard drive. The file downloaded is a self-extracting executable with a filename based on theSoftPaq Number above.
  2. The BIOS/ROM image file must be used with Remote Management Software in order to actually flash (upgrade) the ROM image on one of the affected Evonotebooks.
  3. When used with SSM, copy the SoftPaq to the file store.
  4. When used with WINFLASH, run the SoftPaq to get the .cab file.IMPORTANT: DO NOT TURN OFF POWER TO THE COMPUTER WHILE PERFORMING THIS PROCEDURE!
