Free Download deskjet 980C printer /software/driver: corporate users for parallel cable drivers for hp

This driver is designed for use on computers that will be directly connected to the printer from the computer's parallel port with a parallel cable. Please note this driver has no "Program Group" functionality.

Installation instructions:

1. Create a new folder on the hard drive: c:dj980 before downloading the printer driver.
2. Download the driver to the newly created c:dj980 folder.
3. Plug the parallel cable into the printer and PC.
4. Open the c:dj980 folder and double-click the downloaded "exe" file.
5. Under c:dj9809xinf folder a 3 letter language folder will be displayed. For example, the English driver will display a folder named "enu". This folder was created when by double-clicking on the downloaded "exe" file.
6. From Windows, click "Start", "Settings", "Printers".
7. Next, double-click on "Add Printer".
8. When the Add Printer Wizard screen appears, click "Next".
9. Choose "Local Printer" and click "Next" (applicable in Windows 98/ME).
10. To continue, click the "Have Disk" button.
11. Next, click "Browse" and move to the folder "c:dj9809xinfenudriversWin9x_ME". An "hpf980x.inf" file will be displayed. Select the file name and click "OK".
12. Click "OK" to continue. "hp deskjet 980c series" will now be found in the Printers column. Now, click the "Next" button.
13. Choose "LPT1" and click "Next".

If another printer driver is installed on the PC, select "Yes" or "No" to use this printer as the default printer and click "Finish". The hp deskjet 980c series printer driver will be added to the "Printers" window.

13. If another printer driver is installed on the PC, select "Yes" or "No" to use this printer as the default printer and click "Next".
14. Choose "Not Shared" and click "Next".
15. Next, select "Yes" or "No" to print a test page and click "Finish". The hp deskjet 980c series printer driver will be added to the "Printers" window.
