Install Instructions
  1. Download the file, Hpqimageviewer.exe to a local drive. Make note where (in which folder) the file gets copied.
  2. Restart the computer. (The InstallShield software used for the patch will not start if the hpoevm08.exe process is hung. This step is not necessary if you are certain that the hp image viewer has not been opened since the last time the computer was restarted or turned on.
  3. Temporarily disable any antivirus software.
  4. Exit any running applications, games, utilities, and multimedia applications.
  5. In Windows Explorer (or by some equivalent means) go to the folder where Hpqimageviewer.exe was copied; run the program.
  6. Double-click on the hpqimageviewerupdate.exe patch file to start it.
  7. Follow the instruction dialogs that appear to install the update.
  8. A restart is not necessary after the patch is installed.
