Symptom:
Network analysis determines a large number of open OpenPrinter calls going to the print server. At least one HP PSC printer is connected either to the network or locally on a client PC.

What this driver update accomplishes:
Solves the problems by updating the PSC 900 Series print code and almost eliminating the number of OpenPrinter calls made over the network.

Please note: This driver will update only print functionality; all other functions remain intact and work with this update.

Installation instructions:

1. Create a new folder on the hard drive: c:PSC950up before downloading the printer driver.
2. Download the driver to the newly created c:PSC950up folder.
3. Open the c:PSC950up folder and double-click the downloaded "exe" file.
4. Let the files extract to the current folder, click "Unzip".
5. From Windows, click "Start", "Settings", "Printers".
6. Right click on the "hp psc 900 series", "Proprieties".
7. Click on the "Advanced" tab on the top right of the Properties box
8. Next, click "New driver..."
9. When the Add Printer Wizard screen appears, click "Next".
10. To continue, click the "Have Disk" button.
11. Next, click "Browse" and go to the folder "c:PSC950up". An "hpop2k07.inf" file will be displayed. Select the file name and click "Open".
12. Click "OK" to continue. "hp psc 900 series" will now be found in the Printers column. Now, click the "Next" button.
13. If another printer driver is installed on the PC, select "Yes" or "No" to use this printer as the default printer and click "Next".
14. Choose "Do not share this printer" and click "Next".
15. Select "Yes" or "No" to print a test page and click "Next".
